Offseason Re-signings suggestion
#21
i really like this idea, I really think this makes arby a little more realistic with you having 1 shot to give them your price and the computer chooses which side is better, this wouldn't really effect things too much in the negatives, I actually don't see any negatives, good idea Nick

BUMP

Lots of changes due to "realism" but yet this suggestion is constantly ignored?

- No second file with tweaked settings needs to be put out by admins
- No sifting through hundreds of other players to get to your own guys to re-sign
- Far, far more realistic in that you only getting one shot to make an arby offer that you think your player will sign

Just don't see the need for a second file with tweaked settings (regardless of which ones are tweaked) when we can accomplish all the re-signings without a sim ahead file

As I stated before

"Another point I want to bring up is I'd only be for this idea if the resiginings were due a day after the playoffs were finished. With not knowing if I'm going to win the arby case or not means I don't know what my budget space will be like. Which in turn means we're or at least I'd be handcuffed in trades since I need to keep a close eye on how much I spend. We already have a limted window for the offseason trade making I don't want to make it any smaller. "

Either that or extend the offseason by as many days as it takes to figure out if you win or lose your arby case.

It takes the same amount of time as it does now. You submit your offseason re-signings (including arby bids) & you find out if you won in the FA file. I don't see the need to add 2 more days to the end of the off-season schedule for this, but am not opposed to that if others feel such a need

Well in or file the way it is right now you already know if you win your bid because every file is the same and if its not its only ever off by 100k but if we did it your suggested way it would take a couple days to find everything out.

haha, well played Nick

In regards to the conversation at hand, I like what Nick is referring to. In our current system, you have an ample amount of do-overs. You can keep fidgeting the numbers to see what you can get away with in the system. We allow that already with contracts on players under 90 to finagle the contract. I think what Nick is mentioning is take out the do-overs on arb. Post your numbers and you either win or lose. I don't think the monetary amount is big enough to burn anyone's britches.

Alright approved for next season, be careful with your spending this offseason with inflation being turned off and this feature money's going to start tightening up around here.
