Nyy get
C/1B Josh Jarmel 95 32yo 15.7M thru 29

Atl get
SS/DH Starlin Castro 73 36yo 20M thru 2027
This years yanks 1st rounder

Yanks accept. The draft class is overhyped imo. And I want to win right now, plus dumping castro and landing jarmel actually saves us $.

This is a clear sign and trade. Jarmel (and McArthur for that matter) were signed to four year deals in the off-season. This wasn't a low key signing where things just didn't go according to plan. Two months just isn't long enough for players of this caliber.

You only gave it two months to play out. Have some patience, rather than always expecting instant gratification. You have a good team that's just under performing. Maybe 2026 wouldn't have been your year, but Mc and Jarmel would still be under contract for three more years to right the ship.

maybe that might be true, but with attaway out of the picture, no cf, no c, and no bulpen its not likely at all i'd compete in a division with fla, nats, and mets + with houston and cincy its nearly impossible to make the playoffs

i have to veto too

If this was the same situation and at the trade deadline I might let it go, but we are only at the draft and if I was one of the teams who was trying to sign him in the offseason I would be upset.

I don't get the problem honestly. He earned the rights to this player during FA with the intentions of competing. He obviously is not doing too well. Maybe it is early to quit on him, but I think it is a reasonable move. Especially for all we know the next couple drafts might not be this strong, and trading him in the future might be more difficult.

Put yourself in the shoes of Mav (LAD) who lost out on him by $250K per year.
