I thought the rule was that players traded after April 1st aren't eligible for comp? So if they go to FA there wouldn't be comp.

Right, the idea was that these are basically rentals, which is part of the problem.

I have to switch to a veto. Matty's financial argument is compelling to say the least. Detroit already sits overbudget and this deal will not fix that. I can't, in good conscience, approve a league-controlled team going into debt. That's an awful precedent.
