FCM The Show League
#1
It's happening!

For anyone with MLB '12: The Show, you're welcome to create your team and join the league. Use either DLee's or Nokes' player creator tool to come up with your rating conversions from Mogul to The Show. Then customize your players however you wish. I would recommend creating at least 35 players, but you can create a max of 40. This is so you have extras in the minors to call up.

We will use this thread to discuss league options as well as a roster checkout. Since we will need to export and then upload our players to the master roster file, it's important that we know who has the updated roster file.

EXAMPLE

Post 1: "I have the roster and am uploading my players."
Post 2: "I'm done with the roster and have uploaded it to the vault (mattynokes)."

Now to discuss the potential league options.

- I feel the league will work best in a round-robin fashion so that everyone plays each other an equal amount.
- Number of playoff teams will depend on how much people we get, but the max allowed will probably lead to the most enjoyable experience.

Schedule Type Flex or Open?
Open means any game can be played at any time (i.e. you could play April 29 before playing April 10). Flex means a normal sequence needs to be followed (i.e. April 1, April 2, April 3, etc...)

Games Per Series 1 or 3?
Self-explanatory

Series Against Each Opponent Min of 2 Series
I'm asking this differently than the game lists it because I feel we should play everyone equally.

Regular Season Duration Any
This is the amount of real days that the regular season will be open. I'm not positive, but I'd think as soon as all games are completed we can move on to the playoffs.

Playoff Series Length 1, 3, 5, 7?

Allow Trades Yes/No?

Hitting/Pitching Difficulty Any
If everyone is ok with it I have TNK's Sliders (with Pitch Speed down another 2) that I can load in. Default is pretty good, but these allow for a little more realism.

Guess Pitch Any?

Hot Zones On/Off?

Strike Zone On/Off?

Balks On/Off

Injuries On/Off?

Balls and Strikes Variable or Off?
Basically do we want perfect calls or some variety.

Presentation Broadcast or Fast Play?

Ejections On/Off?

Schedule Type: 50/50, I think Flex is good for realism. But Open might help with our real world schedules.

Games Per Series: 3

Series Against Each Opponent: 2, w/ 4 teams it'd mean 18 total games and a home-away series against each team

Regular Season Duration: I think 56 Days (8 weeks) would be good. With 18 games that's just over 2 games per week

Playoff Series Length: It has to be all the same, so I vote 3

Allow Trades: No, use your own team and that's it.

Hitting/Pitching Difficulty: All-Star w/ TNK Sliders

Guess Pitch: No, It's more realistic this way

Hot Zones: No, see above

Strike Zone: On, I like knowing when to yell at the umpire for shitty calls.

Balks: Off, it's just something extra to remember (coming to a stop while pitching) and is a little annoying in a video game.

Injuries: On, your team should have depth.

Balls and Strikes: Variable, realism 101.

Presentation Broadcast or Fast Play? I prefer Broadcast, but for online I think fast play works the best.

Ejections: On, for the sake of someone head hunting to try and injure a batter.
