I love mogul, but I love being able to pay rent or having things more. Furthermore, to trade shifts is essentially impossible for me on a good day. Not to mention Christmas season. So my only option would be to request the day off work which isn't an option.
Unless you have to work 7 days a week (which you've already said as much to know you don't), then go gobble a cock. After all, we are heading towards Thanksgiving in the US.
I am not suggesting to "give up a days pay" and to think that is asinine. You request the day off so if it's approved (hopefully), you're guaranteed that draft day is one of your two days off for that week. When I do this for the 2068 draft, I will not lose any hours for that week, my hours will only be "shuffled around" and I'll keep the same hours that I get every week.

Quote:I have brought forth 3 different ideas to you. You shot down them all unless I misunderstood, however I recall you calling one of them obnoxious. Matty also had a suggestion, again shot down. And PR also said he would run the draft which would keep the same schedule which could take you out of the equation altogether freeing up your Sunday. It's EVERYONE'S Sunday that get's cut out just FYI. Unless you trade out of the draft or list it. Plenty of stuff I could be doing as well on a Sunday (even after work) but if I have picks I draft. It's the cost of playing in leagues and having fun. If you don't want to run the draft that's fine I get it it's a huge headache as I to have ran drafts before, but when someone else is offering to run the draft then hand the reigns over if you don't want to be there to do it. The only way other people will get better at running is by having others do it. If you'd like me to re-share my suggestion's I can though I just figure I'll save the typing for now as you shot them down already.
You wanted a 6 round board draft. That's impossible, it simply won't work. What other ideas?
Matty wants to accelerate the predraft, which is a minimal gain at best. The predraft has cut 20-30 minutes from the draft, accelerating the predraft risks screwing people over in real life for a few extra minutes. Not worth it.
PR never said he would run it. No one wants to do it for obvious reasons.
Not everyone's Sunday gets cut out. Only one person HAS to be here for this to happen. Me. If you want to sacrifice a draft and put in a list or trade your picks - you can. I can't. I'm stuck here every 6 weeks taking out family time.
Right now I'm missing out on my son carving pumpkins for the draft. So test me tonight mike. I fucking dare you.

If it comes down to it I'll run the draft versus having to leave because I'll never be able to make a draft. Or have a committee who shifts off every season. I do it one year, matty the next if he's willing etc. In combination with moving it to a time that better suits you like 6 eastern I think was something you could do, that way your not missing any drafts either.

I'm down for experimenting new draft gurus. If it really came down to preventing people from leaving I'll run the god damn draft as best I can, obviously won't have Andy's experience but I don't want to see people leave over the changing of god damn draft times. Of all things to quit over it just can't be over draft times.

Volunteering to do the draft by volunteering someone else at the same time doesn't seem like much of a commitment.
Not so easy when you have to write in stone to be here every 6 weeks come hell or high water huh? And you don't even have kids.

I've ran drafts before and I'd highly doubt many can do the draft at the pace Andy does. It's tough and then you add on pick lists, PCs, etc...
If someone else does it, I see...The draft becoming screwed up, a GM being screwed out of a pick that should've been made based off their list/instructions, and ultimately that GM never wanting to do a draft again. Face it, we have to make concessions to meet the time(s) that's best for Andy.

Andy does such a good job with the draft, that as long as he's willing to do the draft I think we should work around the times that work for him, Most people seem to be okay with just about any time on Sunday, so there is really no reason to sacrifice draft efficiency just to have it at a certain time of day.
