NL and the DH

I'd like to see it happen in this league honestly.. would be great for next season

I'm curious, those that say no.....is it a dealbreaker kind of no? Like it would crush your experience and make you think of leaving? Or is it just a preference you aren't passionate about?

Realistically, I'm against interleague play. But we're talking about Mogul and Mogul doesn't strategize correctly. If you could list who you wanted to come off the bench in specific situations, against specific pitch types, etc... then I'd be down to keep the NL sans DH. But it's just a dice roll on who Mogul is going to call off the bench.

As for when it would come into effect, I am against it happening in 2038. I already have my bench lined up for no DH and I wouldn't be surprised if others have done the same.

Public opinion already supports DH in both leagues. Owners are now starting to get vocal both ways about it. We will see it very soon. Especially with there literally being an interleague series happening at every point during the season.

Though I agree, citing continuous interleague play is not an argument for having the DH in the NL. Through interleague play, the Braves upped their DH usage from 9 to 10 games. Instead of interleague play happening for about 3 weeks in June, now it's simply spread out over the course of the season.

IRL I am against it... Id prefer it was abolished along with interleague.

id rather see the distinction between the leagues upheld.

I'd be all for letting a DH into the NL.

Among the 16 NL GMs the current tally is 5 vs. 1.

Normally we don't do things democratically here (because it's just not a better way frankly) but if the overwhelming majority of NL GMs are for it - then we will likely institute it for 2039 as well.

Matty brings up a huge point that I didn't even think about at first. I don't trust mogul AI one bit and is reason enough alone to make the switch. It barley knows how to play platoons correctly let a lone knowing who should come off the bench first.

for what its worth i could see a move like this and a switch of HOU from the NL central to the AL West as making sense. This would cause a constant inter-league but then again if everybody had the DH it wouldnt matter so much

The Houston switch will happen, but first we need to decide what to do about 2014, but we're not in a position to do taht until the next patch.
