COL-BAL Trade
#1
:COL: Gets:
SP Galeno Garica 93 (Age 27) - $6.5M
$3 Million

:BAL: Gets:
2B Frankie Sporer 67/89 (Age 21) - $Draft Day
RF Darren Haines 71/88 (Age 23) - $Draft Day
SP Josh Brasfield 87 (Age 87) - $Draft Day
----------

I've been looking for a starter and Garcia fits the bill. Sporer and Haines will be sorely missed, but it's well worth it.

it was 2M i thought accept tho - Sporer i know plays Sullys position but i can always move him 2 SS and switch im off with future SS Pollack, Haines is a nice OF defensively, and I really like BRasfield....Garcia got trade because L's always get beat in mogul and in 5 yrs he might be dead

I'm sorry but what sense does this make? Arod, this is poor value for a pretty good pitcher. Trading a legit arm for a pile of crap.

I also have a serious problem with arod's schizo back-and-forth with what is going on with his team.

Veto.

I think with your ace you should shop more, keep in mind I have 0 interest in him so I am not vetoing because of that. Just its been around 24 hours since you put him on the block.

I realize the package isn't wowing, but they certainly aren't a "pile of crap". Brasfield should make the rotation and both Haines and Sporer are good starting options. If he should wait longer, then why didn't SDP have to wait longer to trade Hellesto? From what I recall SDP could've gotten a better package that what HOU offered.

No...they really are a pile of crap. And you'd be vetoing this if it wasn't your deal.

A-rod needs to figure out the direction of his team and work towards that. If five years is his mark, no one in this deal is going to do anything for him in five years. And he's giving up a borderline ace to get it. That's awful.

Is it really going to matter?

SDP's Hellesto trade last year was approved and he dealt him a little over an hour after getting the team.

The return is much different. Brasfield is overrated, but so is Richardson. Iwase and Waterman aren't any better than Sporer and Haines. I'd take Hellesto over Garcia eight days a week.

Can I double veto just out of spite for this despicable tact? And there isn't even a clear deal! How can I possibly think this was well negotiated and thoroughly thought-through when the posted terms aren't even clear?

This is a bad offer for someone "rebuilding". I don't understand how two players older than 23 makes a damn bit of sense. As someone else said "Baltimore isn't competing anytime soon". And this deal makes them worse now and in the future.
