We've explored (and now do) allow draft picks to be traded earlier than back in the old days. We now allow Comp picks to be traded, when that wasn't allowed years ago.
I think we're stable enough to make future draft picks available. I'd propose that following Sim #5, next year's Rounds 1-3 are available to be traded. That's it. Nothing more in the future and it preserves the picks needed to surrender for Comp FAs. We already track draft pick trading over the off-season and this would be no different. I think this would help generate some true trade deadline activity instead of the assumed "June 4th" deadline.
*Waiting until after Sim #5 is on purpose. It wouldn't be a big deal to make the picks available directly following the draft. However, I think it helps with not confusing picks as well as helping with rash decisions and quickly gutting next year's picks.*

I think this is a good idea. I also am willing to keep track of this or help keep track of this, as I already do so in my other league.

Rangers agree. Can also help keep track of DP's if necessary. Several times in the past I have contacted other teams to inform them they have a former Ranger-owned picks which fell thru the cracks.

I voted against it, but my only concern is that it will be abused and ruin a franchise for a decade. I acknowledge that we do have a very stable crop of GMs here, but all it takes is one to really mess things up. That hesitation aside though, I support it.

I'm not sure that you can ruin a franchise for a decade by being able to trade (basically) one draft class a little earlier than normal. If you're talking multiple years being able to be traded, sure. But any ruining can still be accomplished in the off-season.

I voted No. I am a traditionalist. I like to keep our game as close to the real game as possible.
I also see where this creates even more of a competitive imbalance each year. Some teams will get much better the year they trade their draft picks. Others will be more inclined to go to rebuild stage accumulating more picks.
I see it as one more thing to keep track of. One more thing that creates more time needing spent on the game.
In summary:
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
