I think the Padres know what they were doing. They seem to have a good front office right now.

Obviously they could not afford to keep Adrian so this deal was inevitable. They had to trade him away to a big market team that had the big bucks to sign him. The Pads did get some nice guys in return too.

Even though I'm a Yankees fan I will be very interested to seeing if Gonzalez does live up to his expectation to be a hitter perfect for fenway park. As a fan of baseball it will be interesting to see someone steroid free kill the ball often.

We see that all the time with Pujols, Votto, Hamilton, Dunn, Longoria, Teixeira, Wright, and Hanley Ramirez.

But Gonzalez should be perfect for fenway, he should smack the ball more then those guys next year, 2011 AL MVP would not suprise me at all.

He won't win 2011 MVP. That will go to someone like Hamilton, Morneau (And I think it will be Morneau), Cabrera or Teixeira. Gonzalez will be a big part of our offense with Crawford, but not MVP type because he won't be the only reason we make the playoffs, if we even do.

You should - if Tampa can continue to compete next season then Joe Maddon deserves manager of the decade award.

Unless we sign Lee, I would predict the Red Sox to win the division.
