Yes. You read correctly. I'm making a suggestion that would eliminate a process that I enjoy.
Make Sept 1 (Sim 11) the Trade Deadline and eliminate Waivers
This is something that is being looked at in MLB. Probably not as far as September 1, but it makes sense for us as a league (if we're going to push the deadline back) to have it at Sim 11.
1. The current July 31 deadline is usually slow. More time allows for more teams to decide if they're in or out.
2. One of the fallacies of waivers is no priority list (which is too hard to track), so certain teams can just roadblock willing trade scenarios from other teams.
3. Our anti-tanking rules may prohibit some trades if there are 2 months left. With 1 month left, those trades might be more inclined to happen.
