I'll be the first to say that I think Frost's perceived value is higher than his actual value. However, giving him up for free is ridiculous. No matter your opinion of the prospect (Tom Little), it makes no sense to trade a prospect for Frost and then cast him away for free.
I think the root of this decision is MIL trying to maximize profits as much as possible (which would question why Frost was even added in the first place). I believe there's a misguided value place on trying to maximize profits. You can only gain so much money until it starts actually hurting your cause. Most know, but maybe JMaineD doesn't realize...

And as that In-Game cash creeps higher and higher, player demands follow suit. One could claim the idea of building cash to buy prospects or picks, but it requires a team that is actually willing to sell those assets and is not guaranteed.
If you want to deal Frost, fine. If you can't come to an agreement with SEA, that's fine too. There's still the off-season to open up the possibilities of dealing Frost to a team that matches up with your interests.
