The fact that Shroyer was just re-signed this July puts the kabosh on this deal. Now, I don't think there's intent, but...

1. Making a big commitment to a guy and then trading him away 4 months later isn't very realistic, a big reason why the S&T rule is in place.

2. The price he signed for with Texas is largely to do with him being happy in Texas and it could have varied greatly if it were another team.
