Extensions Rule

There were recent talks of tightening finances, this could help. How about we use the rules for Free Agent contracts and apply them for all extensions. Specifically, this would impact the movement of relievers.

1yrs - No Minimum
2yrs - 1.0M
3yrs - 5.0M
4yrs - 7.5M
5yrs - 10.0M
6yrs - 12.5M
7yrs - 15.0M

Lately, I've been seeing relievers being locked up at prime bargain rates:

• RP Cory Thayer 80 overall -- Signed 4yrs 4m (2082)
  
• RP Emmanuel Becena 81 overall -- Signed 5yrs 3.1m (2082)
  
• RP Simon Coffey 79 overall -- Signed 3yrs 3.8m (2082)
  
• RP Mitchell Meinhart 80 overall -- Signed 4yrs 5.6m (2080)
  
• RP Jason Quan 77 overall -- Signed 6yrs 3.5m (2077)
  

There are probably some Starting Pitchers and Position Players who fit this category, but they generally clear the minimum rates.

The drawback to something like this would be a ton of 1 year extensions in the offseason, but this should shake things up properly to open up the reliever market.
