We have 40 players we've identified that hvae not made the HOF that may deserve reconsideration.

I don't think throwing all 40 of them on a ballot is worthwhile, but perhaps we bleed them out over time. Here is my thought, but I'm reaching out for other ideas:

8 players a ballot, Vet ballots are release every 2 years. The first will be in 2064 in addition to the regular ballot. The next will be in 2066 and so on. The ballot will be released after the trade deadline and each guy on the ballot will have a short "Why he should be in/Why not" snippet for each player. Guys will make their ballot based on when they retired. So the earliest guys on the list go first and we progressively work our way through.

In 2075 we will start accumulating names again and the next time there are 8 worthy candidates another ballot will come out and we'll do it that way from that point forward.

I like it! I also wondered if there is a way to save retired players year to year stats in their scouting report. I think it would put things into perspective a bit more. Is there a way to do this, if not for past retirees, at least for future ones?

I think I have that checked already and the game ignores it.

I think a better way would be to divide them up by the positions. That way it's easier to see how they stack up with their peers and voters will have a game plan going into the vote, i.e. "Alright, it's the Corner Positions vote, so what are the HOF averages there?"
