Who Will Be In The Conference Rotation?

Worcester, MA -- With only three spots available, competition is heating up for a bid in the conference weekend rotation. Paul McIntosh has been the most consistent starter so far and surely he has a spot wrapped up. Jon Sterk likely has a spot as well. Although his season numbers aren't great, he's been the Crusaders' most dominant pitcher as of late.

That leaves it down to the question of; Colt Seavers or Nate Walker? Walker looked like a great candidate until yesterday's start against Wichita State, where gave up six earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched. Seavers has been roughed up so far this season, but arguably has been facing tougher competition than Walker.

Holy Cross opens their home schedule against Elon this weekend, while they travel to Louisiana-Lafeyette next week for a two-game series. Here's the projected starters for each series:

Vs Elon: Jon Sterk, Paul McIntosh, Colt Seavers

Vs Wichita State: Nate Walker, Paul McIntosh

Crusaders 13-5 In Last 18 Games

Worcester, MA -- Since starting the season 0-5, Holy Cross has come storming back to make some noise, most recently beating up on perenial contender, Nebraska. Holy Cross is just one weekend series away from conference play and it's looking like now will be the time head coach Matt Nokes unvails the weekend rotation.

Jon Sterk may get himself in to trouble, but he manages a way to find wins, so he's definitely in. Paul McIntosh has been the most consistent and just pitched a two-hitter. Though it remains to be seen whether Sterk or McIntosh will get the ball for Friday matchups. The last spot has been decided on as Nate Walker. Walker is simply pitching too well to give the spot to a struggling Colt Seavers. For now, Seavers will likely be the top arm out of the bullpen for the Crusaders.

The recruiting trail is starting to heat up. Left-hander Brandon Poirrier (Norwich, CT - HS) has expressed very high interest in Holy Cross - many believe he'll commit. Juan Colangelo (San Bernadino, CA - JC), an experienced left-handed pitcher is a prized commodity around Worcester. However, Colangelo has shown little interest in making the near 3,000 mile journey across the country. A few experts suggest Holy Cross take a deep look at outfielder Ari Hinchman (Rochester, NY - HS). They believe he has the potential to become a starter by his second year on campus. With how Eren Connor has played, it'd be no surprise.
