Our current rules state the player must be below 80 to attend Winterball. This causes some players to never have the opportunity to attend Winterball. Players that were just drafted but have already risen above a 80.
Players like my Angel Baca and Florida's John MacLewis are examples of players that will never get a chance to attend Winterball. Baca just moved positions from 3b to C. I would like the opportunity to develop his catcher position more. That's what Winterball is all about.
Winterball should be to give extra innings to players to allow them to develop their talent. Especially players that were not able to play a full minor league season.
My proposal is to allow all recently drafted players to be eligible for Winterball.

I would be for this. Something along the lines of anyone drafted or acquired as an FA from the previous year's draft pool could be eligible. Then keep the below 80 rule for everyone else.

I think the rules are fine as-is. If being able to WB a player is such a priority to someone, then they should draft in a way that basically guarantees them to be able WB the player. For MacLewis, he did have an incredible 13 point jump, something that you can't anticipate. However, that's a benefit in itself. Would Hokey prefer a 13 point jump or a normal 3-5 point jump and a chance at WB? I'd like to believe you'd take that 13 point jump every time.
With Baca, he was 75/88 on draft day and jumped to 80/93. That jump is not crazy in any way, shape, or form. It should've been known on draft day that there's a good chance he won't be WB eligible.

When I think WinterBall I think young players learning.
Who would ever say to a 18 year old just drafted you are not eligible for Winterball? Doesn't seem right that you can send a 35 year old to Winterball if you wish but not a just drafted player.

I'm open to the idea of any player drafted the previous year has a one year exception. I'd be ok with it - just be aware that further increasing them does have the side-effect of dropping peaked players.

I'm a fan of the current system, peaked players drop frequently enough as it is.

Well, this system doesn't increase the amount of people that can go to WB - just the amount of people eligible. I would be okay with expanding this, but I also propose to drop the maximum number of players a team can send to WB from 4 to 3.

I'd be ok with this if we dropped to a 3 max.
1 Slot = .585+ W%
2 Slots = .500-.584 W%
3 Slots = .499- W%
