KCR/NYY

To :KCR:

RP Patrick Watts 30 83 (contract expires but won't be a sign and trade due to his rule 1.33 eligability)

To :NYY:

RP Tom White 21 65/81 draft day

Well Watts will make significantly more than I wanted to pay for a non-closer but at least it will only be a short term 1 year deal. I get him on the cheap, although White does look promising. Pretty much a no brainer for me since I need the bullpen help.

Yankees accept. This trade would need to be pushed through before the resignings so KCR can do whatever the contract he wishes is (it appears he wishes to be 1.33 rule), as I cannot technically sign Watts. White isn't very good, but he isn't terrible. And it was either a deal like this or release Watts for nothing (since I am 300k in DEBT i cannot make any contract resignings). I'll take White over nothing. Plus I lose some needed payroll.

You cant trade watts before resigning, we are technically sign after the trading deadline until the resigning period passes.

6 years into his career... not arby eligible anymore. if it was one day sooner the 1.33 rule would apply. Watts goes to FA

It's been noted by the others, but Watts is FA eligible. He is not eligible for another year of arbitration. He would have to be under six years of service to be eligible. So this would be a sign and trade.
