Rule Changes: Agents and 2013

2013 First, after we finish this current season that we are on. We are going to make the switch to the mogul version of 2013. We feel that with the version we are on right now, the pool of potential new owners to recruit is very limited and we feel that moving to the new version of the game will provide the league with more candidates as positions open up within the league.

I do not condone this but if you cannot afford the 2013 version, I am sure there is a link out there where you can download the version. If that link does not work for you, speak with me and I will help you figure something out.

Now of note, the 2013 and 2011 will have some adjustments in players. In the 2011 version some players will have slightly adjusted ratings going into the 2013 version. That is something we can talk about and figure out but from I can see from my point of view. This is nothing but a positive for us in the long run of the league.


Agents The agent system is no more, we are going to suspend that program for the time being and test the waters without them. However, special incentives and agreements from those agents are still in play and you must fulfill your agreements. However, going forth, you can resign players through the game. We are hoping this will cut back in some of the animosity that I have heard where individuals have not been able to get timely responses back or they think something is unfair.

However, the years of when you can sign players are still in effect. You cannot re-sign a player until he has 5 years of service time in game. So we are not going to allow you to buy out the team control years for a sweat deal on a up and coming prospect/player.

Wanted to remind everyone about the switch to 2013. That switch is going to be done at the end of the season re-sign file. That way we are going to be doing FA in 2032 in 2013, so any difference in ratings are reflected upon the bidding.

The biggest change is defense. Some can have a pretty drastic change, others have minimal changes, or even no change. Health can also change.

PR, for me 2013 provides more data and some different fields of data and information. It also centralizes some of the information that I (we) look at. It also gives more options within the game for stuff we want to do (extra wild card spot for example).

More sabermetrics, more playoff teams, ability to set contract buyout percents, and the defensive adjustments are worthwhile to upgrade.

Not only is there more data but just the little things. I like knowing exactly how much budget room I have, instead of estimating it, or having to go looking through finances. There's actual vitals for catchers now(or all players in general).

And PR i'm in your boat, I have like 11 Pitching prospects that i NEED as well as a few of the hitters, it'll be an adjustment but we should be ok.
