Sorry Guys
#1
I wanted to get back into FCM, but the rules are just too much

This one in particular really exemplifies why I don't have fun at FCM:

I don't want to bust out a calculator just to bid on a free agent

If you guys ease up on the rules and focus more on the fun aspect, get back to me

Nick,

We put that in a few years back to try and prevent people coming in with 7 years @ 1M bid to outbid someone on a 1 year @ 3M bid. I don't think it is a complicated system but to me it seams like you had your agenda in joining this league in an attempt to try and help fill your own. I wish you the best of luck.

I didn't mention your step offer system, which I'm fine with. I mentioned an entirely second system that is used for certain players. So even if I make a legal offer according to one of the step systems, it could be illegal according to the other

I don't feel like busting out an abacus to determine a legal bid in free agency

And I also never mentioned my league to anyone here. The reason I returned is because Stang aimed me and asked me to come back. My apologies for returning

Wasn't aware that there is multiple systems for FA. Other than the Type A's and B's, Type C's and FA over the age of 30/37
Oakland A's
2015-Current
(18 seasons)
1,340-1,577

Not sure what you are referring to but what Matty did was for the people that did not have the proper bids in place, he removed the bids. Again, that process of years to dollars was to prevent people abusing the FA bidding process with multiple years on small dollar guys. It got to be really annoying when a certain former GM would bid over your 2 year @ 3M per bid with 7 years @ 1M and with us going total contract value his 7 was > than the 6.

The only other system we have in place is the comp system and that has been like that since the start of the league. For the comp system, the teams need to accept a fallback offer, again, you were here when we had that process in place. Then the bids need to be greater than the fallback offer per year, or within ...

Quote:1 Year - 100% of Fallback Salary
2 Years - 90% of Fallback Salary
3 Years - 80% of Fallback Salary
4 Years or more 70% of Fallback Salary

This is to avoid the situation of a person having 10M in guaranteed money over 1 year in the fallback vs someone offering 5 years @ 2.1M per season. The 5 year deal is greater in value but is someone going to turn down 10M over 1 season for that 5 year deal? I don't think either process is over-complicated or will make you have to think to hard.

I am sorry if my tone was harsh but to me you coming back, then starting your own league gives the apperance you came back to get in front of people again for your recruiting and once your league is full and off the ground you leave. I apologize if I am mis-reading what happened but that is what it appears like to me.

I wish you the best of luck in your league and I hope you don't dissappear on that league like your last.

I started my other league before coming back. I encourage you to ask Stang about his aiming me asking me to return to FCM

Again, I apologize for returning while being in another league if that is now looked down upon in mogul communities (guess I never got that memo)

Since I am no longer involved in this league, I would appreciate it if this thread would be closed & references/replies about me be kept to a minimum since I won't be able to defend myself

Thanks &, again, good luck

You are right, you started your league on 5/19 and came back here on 5/21 and had your first sim on 5/24 and filled out your league from owners in this league. I will believe your word Nick but you have to admit, the timing of all of this is very odd.

I will close the thread per your request.
