Boston Red Sox - mzylinski - 08-14-2016 :bos2: Team Prospect Grades: Hitting: 84 Pitching: 82 Overall: 91 1. Nat Haynes DH 82/94 23yr AAA .272/.411/.653 26 HR 55 RBI .991 Pct He is a DH. Now that that is out of the way, wow. Plus plus power, plus plus eye, his contact wont get to plus status but it will be good enough to make him a masher at the MLB level. Defense looks good on paper but we doubt it translantes to MLB, again for teams that don’t care or want extra power, Nat could play the field, but he wont win any gold gloves. Watch his guy crush balls, especially if he can stay in Boston. 2. Eric Wiggins OF 69/88 21yr AA .270/.339/.400 4 HR 26 RBI 9 SB 2 CS 1.000 Pct Top of the lineup potential, Plus Plus speed already at 21, will have at least plus contact and eye if not plus plus, not fleet of foot in the field like he is on the basepaths, but it shouldn’t keep him from playing in the OF, especially one with a really tall wall taking up some space. He could be a very good patient hitter for years to come. 3. Walt Rix 3B/DH 81/94 23yr AAA .282/.393/.540 21 HR 67RBI .978 Pct Similar to Nat in many ways, already has plus power and eye both of which could become plus plus, has solid contact which could become a plus vital, if it does look out. He will also not likely see the field unless he is in is homerun trot, unless a team want to take a chance with him in the field, I am more hopeful for him to be a good enough defender then Haynes. If Walk and Nat arrive together then Landown st better prepare for some broken windows. 4. Marty Cote CF 73/90 20 yr AAA .299/.397/.448 6hr 53 RBI .000 PCT (In 406 innings) SO the defense is a mystery, but no matter the bat isn’t. Already plus eye, looking to be plus plus soon, power and contact as well should be plus vitals for him. To be in AAA at 20yr speaks volumes on his work ethic, a little more seasoning and he should be a very good young talent for the Sox for years to come. 5. Grant Greiner SP 83/88 23yr AAA 4-4 3.36 ERA 2:1 K/BB .223 OBA Grant will be a good 3 SP maybe even a 2nd in the MLB, and sooner rather than later. Gonna have plus plus movement to go with his plus control, with a plus plus fastball and a plus cutter. He could pitch in the show right now if he wanted, but a little patiences might be a big payoff with this guy in the near future. 6. Mike Ragsdale SP 73/90 21yr AA 2-1 4.13 ERA 1:1 K/BB .277 OBA (Just drafted) Mike was highly regarded by some in the draft, not so much with others. He as the makeup to be a plus plus movement and power guy, it’s the control that worries folks. If he can gain control to or almost to the plus category he will be a vitally important Sp his fastball will be plus plus and he should develop a good cutter 7. Louis Lowery OF 71/87 21yr AA .320/.423/.453 3 HR 36 RBI 1.000 Pct Louis will have the defense to play leftfield everyday in the majors, whether the bat will stay is the question. Already he has plus eye and the ability to turn that into plus plus and have plus speed and contanct with solid power. IF those all develop he will be a good OF in an all around sense. 8. Doug Cannell 3B 70/89 19 YR AA .207/.278/.288 3 HR 24 RBI .987 Pct Cannell gets to the show with that glove, could win a GG one day with that pedigree. However the bat will be an issue, looking at plus power and eye but not much in the word of contact, which could spell disaster for someone to remain on a MLB roster, but time will tell. 9. Nick Ragin 1B 70/85 20 yr AA .305/.382/.508 13 HR 65 RBI .996 Pct Nick at 20 is looking sharp, Contact wont make it to plus but it should be close power and eye with both at least reach plus if not plus plus, if he maxes out his potential he should develop into a great bat, though the defense is questionable at best, best case scenario he is similar to Brett Rowde, worse case he fizzles out. 10. Fernando Estero C 70/83 21yr AA .298/.383/.409 2 HR 32 RBI .987 Pct 23% CS Antoher backup catcher type, will not throw out runners but will handle staff well, should have a plus contact to go with potential plus plus eye. IF all pans out he would be a great individuals to have in the back-up Catching role RE: Boston Red Sox - mzylinski - 01-13-2017 2069: Team Prospect Grades: Hitting: 82 Pitching: 83 Overall: 89 1.
