Players re-signed (arbitration excluded) or signed in free agency to 1-2 year deals must cannot be traded until July 1.
Players re-signed or signed in free agency to 3+ year deals must remain on the team for a full season before being traded.

Players signed to short-term deals still give the team flexibility and 3+ years, being a much greater commitment, requires they be held onto for a full season.
