This is brilliant. And all names I know! haha

RE: 2045 Voting Class - mattynokes - 03-31-2014

The list is now final. This includes all FCM Mogul HOFers. I think it's best that their in-game HOF status be left out, but I will say that I encourage voters to recognize that going 15 seasons in FCM in the 2010s and 2020s was probably as impressive as going 20 seasons in the current, 2040s.

I left off C Ramming and LF Tobon because they have no accolades and only have 2,000 hits as any impressive. Lussier was also left off since he had 1,500 hits and not even 300 HR or 1,000 RBI.

RE: 2045 Voting Class - AndyP - 04-03-2014

Whenever those last few names are done - the voting ballot will be ready.

RE: 2045 Voting Class - mattynokes - 04-03-2014

It's all good now.

RE: 2045 Voting Class - mattynokes - 04-03-2014

I was asked to post some thoughts on what I felt were HOF numbers.

1) 3,000 Hits, 500 HRs, 1,000 SBs, 300 Wins, 500 Saves should be a lock.

2) 2,500 Hits, 450 HRs, 750 SBs, 250 Wins, 450 Saves are still DAMN impressive and should be considered very heavily.

3) 2,000 Hits, 400 HRs, 200 Wins, 400 Saves are the basic cut-off point that I used to determine nominees. Some made the list without any of these, but that had some damn good other credentials.

4) Don't discount the other counting numbers like Runs, RBI, and Walks. Getting to 1,250 R/RBI in FCM has proven to be tough. Also having the patience to walk over 1,000 times in your career is no easy task. For pitchers I've put HR, BB, and K in sabermetric form. Combined with their Record and ERA, this will give you a good sense of what they brought to the table each outing.

5) Don't put too much thought into players not having too many awards. Gold Gloves and All-Star votes can be very fickle in Mogul. Also, remember a player could have all-star worthy numbers on a full season scale, but not get voted in by Mogul if his first half numbers weren't stellar. Same thing with Cy Young and MVP Awards. It's possible the third best AL player was better than the NL MVP in a given year.

6) While at the same time, DO put stock into players having a bevvy of awards. Think multiple Gold Gloves, MVP Awards, Cy Young Awards, or probably 5+ ASGs. These players still need to have the counting numbers to get a HOF nod, but there's definitely something there if the player's name keeps popping up on awards year after year.

7) Remember, they don't play everyday and can't be scrutinized the same as someone playing 150 games. A good way to judge them is probably 80% (120 games) of #1-3 for how they stack up.
