Dodgers - sxr007 - 04-02-2013 SP Sadlier offer 3 year @ 12.2 while taking off no trade clause, add in no trade at 12.2, offer 12.4, 12.6, 12.8, 12.9, 13 mil till accepts new deal 3 year @ 13 mil with no trade clause RE: Dodgers - mattynokes - 04-03-2013 Sadlier has a player option at $16M/1 Year. This is one of Mogul's fallacies with contract recognition, so the salary would need to be at or higher than $16M for him to be signed before he has the choice to accept/decline his option. RE: Dodgers - sxr007 - 04-03-2013 Im going by rules which state: "Players Age 33+ can sign for whatever once we've reached July 1." Over half the year is gone but for argument state lets say we have half a year here left. He currently is at 1.5 years for a grand total of 22.7 mil with player option. I am guaranteeing him 2.5 years at 32.5 mil. I am also adding in a no trade clause which is very important to him. Difference in contracts means at age 35 he is guaranteed 9.8 million. Which is good guaranteed money 2.5 years from now when he would be 35. Where in the rules says there is anything wrong with this? RE: Dodgers - mattynokes - 04-03-2013 We cannot spell out every little nuance that could come up for every rule in every situation. People do not offer player options very often, so it is not in our better interest to potentially further complicate rules and deter interest in the league. It is better to deal with these rare situations when they occur. As I said Mogul does not properly acknowledge player options. Really Sadlier shouldn't be able to be negotiated with until after he's decided on the player option since the last year of his deal is actually 2037 if he accepts the option. RE: Dodgers - AndyP - 04-05-2013 Matty's right, the PO needs to be exercised first. C Mike Artis - sxr007 - 04-08-2013 C Mike Artis offer 2 year @ 13.2, 13.3,13.4,13.5, then 2 year @ 13.6 till he agrees. RE: Dodgers - hokeyrules - 04-09-2013 I do not come close to this SXR. I only get him at 14 mil/4 lol |
