RE: An Apology - Cdawg - 06-23-2012 punishment or not IDK. but if he's not called out on this....what else does he or has he tried to get away with? I'm def not saying Hokey is a devious guy, but if he gets away w/ it twice and you don't say anything or don't catch it, is there a 3rd or 4th time? nip it in the butt by being overly harsh on a Admin and let it be a lesson to the rest of the admin group and the GM group in general, cheat and we fuck you. RE: An Apology - Drubbman - 06-23-2012 One of the reasons I stepped down was due to the reaction I got over the Delgado situation. I kept it quiet for the good of the league and took the heat for it. I took the fall at the time since an admin at fault would shatter the foundation of the league. Many GM's wouldnt work with me and it tarnished my image with the league. I just happy the truth came out finally. RE: An Apology - AndyP - 06-23-2012 Well come back Drubbs...I always knew who the real culprit was! RE: An Apology - bh1225 - 06-23-2012 I agree with Cdawg here.. I know Hokes is a good guy and a good admin. But some little form of punishment I think would be best. Maybe not first rounders... But something. The league should be able to tell that actions like that will not be accepted or tolerated. My solution would be something like a team fee of 10M cash and 2nd round draft pick. RE: An Apology - kc1 - 06-24-2012 I agree there should be a punishment, I also believe hokey should at least step down as Admin. After him attempting to rob a new gm for his personal gain, that's taken it too far. I was going to post that hokey and I have our differences, but he's alright, but after what he tried to pull tonight, I think he should step down as Admin immediately, maybe Marlins gm as well. RE: An Apology - mattynokes - 06-24-2012 So, basically it's one time and "tisk, tisk". Twice and it's a warning. Third time and you're booted? It's like the MLB drug testing not doing anything until the player tests positive for the third time. After seeing other responses I could see some sort of fine being in order. I'd say a 1st is too much, but a 2nd would suffice and instead of dissolving the pick, why not auction it off to the highest bidder and get a little cash out of the league. But I am to the point where I do not give a fuck. If you want me to step down then sure I can easily do that. However, if anyone offered me 8 mil for Poland I would accept it. I always make a high offer at the start that way I do not get low balled. Most people who have traded with me know how I make my offers. Pretty sure this is also not the first time Kirby and I have made a trade (other leagues) or maybe it was I have no idea. But if you think I came on messaged Kirby for a trade to try and rip him off then you are a tool shed. Kirby asked me after Andy vetoed it whether he could lower the price. I replied saying I accepted it and I thought it was fair, but if the mods veto it then we could maybe discuss something. Clearly my intention is not to rip him off. As I told Andy on XAT if 4 was the amount the mods decided was fair I would just keep him, because to me he is worth more than the 4 mil I would get. Anyways I expect this trade to go dead now anyways because negotiating would be pretty hard when I basically said any amount above 4 is respectable enough for me to consider. As for Matty's post. If you are thinking of a fine, considering how my team is a fine that would likely hurt me the most is cash or making it so that the next player I have that is agent bound must go to free agency. Or the next player that I let go to free agency, is not compensation. That was never my intention Drubb, I have wanted you back in the league since you left, I even pmed you a couple times. As far as admitting the truth, this apology and recently is not the first time I admitted what happened with Delgado. RE: An Apology - GoIrish - 06-24-2012 I posted this in the TBR/FL trade thread and I think it holds true here.... Quote:guys, this is a little petty. Is the player worth 8M, probably not, more like 4-5M but kirby is not a "new" person to all of this. Kirby may see something in Poland and he wants him. I think the cloud over some past transgressions are making people look a littler harder than they should in this one, which I really hold no fault for those feelings. I feel that right now a cloud is hanging over hokey and people are looking a little too hard into every move that he makes. I do not feel that 8M for this RP is not a wise investment. However, I don't think it is that far out of the realm of what his proper cost is to get this kind of reaction. I feel that he is not an 8M value in the trade, probably closer to 4-5M. So this type of reaction and banter over 4-3M? If it will stop the banter, we will have Tampa pay 5M and I will pay the other 3. So please mellow out a little and lets get back to having some fun and playing this game. RE: An Apology - Corey - 06-24-2012 I kind of agree with Sean on this one, Tampa has lots of cash and $8 million will hardly bankrupt them. Is it a wise investment when we have FA right now where you could get guys a little further down in talent level for basically nothing? Probably not. But $8 million is hardly going to take Tampa to the poor house. |
