This is a lot like the piazza situation. At first deals were let go through because there wasn't enough of a pattern of bad decisions to stop the trades. One questionable deal alone is not worth getting into a tiff about. When you follow, days later, with a similarly bizarre deal - then my red flag goes up.

As far as value goes you know full well Mike who's getting a steal job here. It's a full blown robbery, so cut that pretense right now. There is no rationale under why this makes any sense. The talent is lopsided. The approach is bizarre. I gave kc opportunities to explain his reasoning but there was no depth of thought and anyone with half an inkling as to talent would know that this makes no sense.

As I said - I'm not counting garbage like Bontein and McEachern. They are garbage, so I'm not counting that against the deal. Instead - this is a 3 vs. 3 deal and it is CLEARLY lopsided. And the problem seems to be that the newer GM doesn't see that.

Veto.

I guess if I needed to spell it out for the reading comprehensive impaired, V-E-T-O. Yeah I let the Suter deal go through, so what? Dealing away one 73/90 prospect isn't going to cripple a franchise or throw off the league balance. Even with new GMs we need to allow them to run their own teams and only intervene when we see it really derailing their future.

RE: Tex/KC - hokeyrules - 05-25-2012

I approve the deal. Basically because I bet my vote won't matter anyways(if it is then oh well, maybe he will learn something), but I feel like if the first deal was let through because we let Texas go the route of getting good pitching then we can not veto this one.

I'm with Matty on this one. This is mutually exclusive to the other one in my eyes. This deal is horrible for Texas.

Veto
