FA Bid Calculator
#1
Now's the time! There's a big stink about the SP Gallardo bidding.

KCR bid $21M for 2 Years
ARI bid $14.25M for 3 Years

While ARI's bid is completely legit, it makes sense for Gallardo to take KCR's offer as he'd only have to make $750K once he becomes a FA to equal ARI's bid.

This isn't just a problem for Type A/B players, I see it happening in regular FA. One team offers $8M/2 Years and someone can outbid with a $5.5M/3 Years. For $500K less, I'd always take the shorter offer because I can probably make up the difference once I'm on the open market.

Solution = Value Calculator (attached below)

It's simple to use and doesn't take much time.

I'd liek to point out that PS's offer isn't completey legit going on the ideolgy that DJ has ALWAYS used for type a and b players. That he takes the deal that makes the most sense.

However I would like a Calculator to avoid this stupid debate. Not for everyone since I don't want to have to run eveyr bid through a calculator but it would work nice for the superstars of the league like type a and b.

I actually like the idea of the calculator for all free agents, not just A and B. It's very quick to use as well, not like people couldn't spend an extra 20 seconds with putting the bids in for the calculator. People spend far longer bitching and moaning in the damn chat. Of all the different ways that I have used in mogul leagues, the calculator they use in outahere has always been the best way for free agents.

The Type A/B's essentially already have this with how the staff chooses the best offer. The calculator would just remove the subjectivity. It should extend to other players because they matter too and only using it for Type A/B's is like saying they don't matter. Some of the bigger FA bidding comes from non-compensated players.

In a word, No.

It's effective but going purely off my experience in outtahere for one offseason, it just makes situations like this more frustrating since both teams will go back and forth trying to manipulate the calculator to give the smallest pay raises possible...it's fucking stupid. If you guys could be mature with your bidding this suggestion wouldn't even be necessary.

Here's my suggestion: Grow the fuck up with your FA bids...every damn offseason there's something like this. Like I said earlier, you GMs keep pissing all over each other with these small bids but when everyone gets frustrated it's magically NOBODY'S fault...

The alternative to not growing up, as I've said since FCM's freaking inception, is really really strict rules...

(Not aimed at Matty for suggesting, aimed at FCM for not being able to handle their shit maturely)

I would be in favor of strict rules. That way theres no rolm for confusion or manipulation.

I have to agree with DJ, yesterday in xat was like running a day care. You first had a handful of people that would just complain over anything that came up. Some of those people had valid concerns but were handling their complaints in a negative fashion that was not constructive. You then had the few people that all they were there for was to stir the pot and really did not give two shits about the situation at hand. I seriously gave strong consideration to just walking away because that was beyond rediculous.
