Adjusting The In-Game Schedule
#1
Current League Schedule:
Divisional Games: 76 Games Total
19 Games vs. each team | 8 or 9 home + 8 or 9 away

Non-Div League Games: 66 Games Total
6 or 7 Games vs. each of the 10 non-div AL or NL teams | 3 or 4 home + 3 or 4 away

Interleague: 20 Games Total
2 to 4 Games vs. 6 different teams from the opposite league

All-Star Break: (92 Games Before All-Star Break, 70 Games After)

Proposed New League Schedule:
Divisional Games: 72 Games | 18 Games per team (4) | 9 home & 9 away (Six 3 Game Series per team)
Non-Div League Games: 60 Games | 6 Games per team (10) | 3 home & 3 away (Two 3 Game Series per team)
Interleague: 30 Games | 2 Games per team (15) | 1 home & 1 away game per team (One 2 Game Home/Away Series per team)
Combined Series: 24+20+15=59
162 Games

3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D = 24 Games vs. Division
3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N = 30 Games vs. Non-Division
1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I = 30 Games vs. Interleague
(*!*)
3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, (*!!*) 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D = 24 Games vs. Division
(*!!!*)
3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N = 30 Games vs. Non-Division
3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D = 24 Games vs. Division

(*!*) = All-Star Break (84 Games Before ASB, 78 Games After)
(*!!*) = OR - All-Star Break (96 Games Before ASB, 66 Games After)
(*!!!*) = All-Star Break (108 Games Before ASB, 54 Games After)

Notes:
The three all-star breaks are just different options for when it could be. Also, we could choose to have a longer break (4 days) after the last game of the season so teams don't need to sit their starters in order to make sure they will be rested for the playoffs.

EDIT: It's not actually going to play out exactly how I said above because of the odd number of teams in divisional & interleague play. So, for the first 16 Divisional Series whichever team is the off team will face the off team from the other league. So the actual schedule will look more like this...

3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 1h1a-I, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 1h1a-I = 24 Games vs. Division | 4 vs. Interleague
3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N = 30 Games vs. Non-Division
1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I = 22 Games vs. Interleague
(*!*)
3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 1h1a-I, 1h1a-I,  (*!!*) 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D = 24 Games vs. Division | 4 vs. Interleague
(*!!!*)
3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N, 3H-N, 3A-N = 30 Games vs. Non-Division
3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D, 3H-D, 3A-D = 24 Games vs. Division

Why should we do this?
Every team gets to play each other an even amount of times home & away.

Why shouldn't we do this?
Answer: If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Response: Correct, nothing is broken however I am not trying to fix anything. I am simply proposing an option that I personally think is better.

How are you going to make this schedule?
I'm going to write it myself. I've done it before and there will be no issues with it. Yes, it's a bit time consuming but it's the off-season and I don't mind spending a few hours in order to make this contribution to a league I love.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to check this out.

This still allows for the divisional matchups to matter and balances things otherwise.

This makes sense to me.

One concern I do have is if we go to an even number of games against divisional opponents, what does that do to the tiebreakers mogul uses? The one benefit of 19 divisional games is divisional opponents cannot tie one another, and I want to make sure that if we go to 18 and a team is tied with a division rival, it breaks a tie on something legitimate and not on something weird like alphabetical order or a coin flip.

Division ties are already broken with a play-in game, so I'm not sure the odd number matters at all.
