Arbitration Suggestion

I suggested part of this in the other suggestion thread I made, but I found out some info on the league that makes it worth to suggest something else for arbitration, so I'll give them their separate thread. And honestly, the second one would be the only one needed.

6th Year Arbitration:
I love that you guys will award the 6th year of arby since Mogul stupidly makes anyone with 5 Years, 1 Day or more of Service Time Free Agent Eligible. The "Previous Salary x 1.333" is good as usually with each year of arby a player's salary increases. The thing left unaccounted for is the player's production. I think it could be easy to account for this.

I would take simply their OPS (for positional players) and ERA (for pitchers). It's not the perfect way to determine a player's worth, but it's the easiest without complicating things. Since a player should perform better than his last season I would also suggest lowering what his previous salary is multiplied by.

Position Player = (Current OPS / Previous OPS) x (Previous Salary x 1.25)
Pitchers = (Current ERA / Previous ERA) x (Previous Salary x 1.25)

Below is how I would write up the official rule.

Players with 5 years, 0 days or more of Service Time, but no more than 5 years, 171 days of Service Time and show to be up for Free Agency can go through arbitration for a 3rd time at the GM's desire. Their new salary is calculated manually and below is how to calculate it:

Position Player = (Current OPS / Previous OPS) x (Previous Salary x 1.25)
Pitchers = (Current ERA / Previous ERA) x (Previous Salary x 1.25)

Arbitration Fixes:
Whenever you release a player with under 6 years of Service Time, they lose their arbitration status if signed by another team. In real life a team will always keep their 6 years of team control on the player. So if a player with 2 years of Service Time is signed as a free agent, he'll have at least another 4 years under team control, regardless of the contract length.

Again, below is how I'd write up the official rule.

Players with 2 years, 143 days of Service Time or more, but no more than 5 years, 171 days of Service Time and show to be up for Free Agency can go through arbitration. Their new salary is calculated manually and below is how to calculate it:

2 years, 143 days to 3 years, 171 days
Position Player = (Current OPS / Previous OPS) x (Previous Salary x 1.1)
Pitchers = (Current ERA / Previous ERA) x (Previous Salary x 1.1)

4 years, 0 days to 4 years, 171 days
Position Player = (Current OPS / Previous OPS) x (Previous Salary x 1.175)
Pitchers = (Current ERA / Previous ERA) x (Previous Salary x 1.175)

5 years, 0 days to 5 years, 171 days
Position Player = (Current OPS / Previous OPS) x (Previous Salary x 1.25)
Pitchers = (Current ERA / Previous ERA) x (Previous Salary x 1.25)

FYI - 2 years, 143 days is the amount of Service Time that it takes to start the arbitration clock

After talking to DJ I found that players under 3 years of service time are supposed to get their draft day contract back when sign in free agency and player over 3 years of service time, but less than 6 years of service time are to get an arbitration contract.

So most of this is a moot point, but then I would say it should be in the rules that said player's contracts can get changed so you have the team control. Though it still leaves that 6th year in question.

Again, below is how I'd write up the official rule. I've added plate appearances/ innings pitched to the equation. Adding PAs (IP) will make the player's salary more fair.
