Im unclear what you mean when you say move the leadoff hitter to star player? Like any leadoff hitter then has to have an agent to re-sign? If thats teh case then i strongly disagree as not every eladoff hitter is all that special.

No. It means the Lead-off hitter will get the some number of points as the #3 guy when it comes to determining agents.

I think the ultimate goal of having somewhere bettween a 60/40 to 70/30 mccinnis/boras split is more important than accurately representing a leadoff hitter's value to a team.

In plain english, that component was added to increase the number of boras clients not to really decide the value of a lead-off hitter.
