I have a few reasons for taking this trade instead of other more "fancy" offers.

1. 3 specs and 2 picks
2. Will aggressively use one of the picks to get a player in FA now
3. clear some salary to use in FA
4. DO NOT WANT HIM TO KILL MY TEAM if I were to trade him in my division or conference/league.

If you sign a comp player, you lose your own pick, not one that you've acquired.
