1. Charlie Buchanan SP 77/88 24yr AAA 2-2 3.45 ERA 2:1 K/BB .224 OBA
Charlie looks like an Ace in the wings, he has plus plus control and plus movement, pitcing well well at AAA and appears just waiting on the call to the bigs. His sinker looks like it will be plus plus, but there is a downside here, the sinker is his only big pitch, his change and curver are solid but without a good fastball it is possible he doenst achieve the ace status, either way we thing worse he becomes is a mid rotation arm which is a great floor to have.
2. Jeff Summerlin SP 72/85 23yr AAA 5-6 4.57 ERA 1:1 ERA .326 OBA
Jeff is a great build, looks like a plus control and plus movment guy with below average power, he already has a plus fastball and is developing a plus sinker. His lines this year have been under par to say the least but he is still only 23, looks like a good #2 starter, at worse a back end rotation type, either way should enjoy a nice major league career.
3. Justin Nash CF 67/90 18yr AA .247/.320/.356 3 HR 41 RBI .993 PCt
Just should be a super star, looks to develop plus to plus plus in each contact eye and speed, with the eye already being a plus vital. The defense is really good as well, a natural center fielder. At 18 this is a guy to watch, it might be a few years but when he arrive he will do so in style upside of a perennial All Star with the floor of a good 4th outfielder.
4. Justin Alston LF 77/91 21yr AAA .344/.419/.589 11 HR 68 RBI .948 Pct
If you look just at the stat line you might need to change you pants, at 21yr to being doing that is what legends are made of. He has the possibility of being a triple threat on the hitting side with plus to plus plus contact power and eye if that all comes to fruition wow look out. The only reason he isn’t the #1 prospect in the Tigers system is we worry that he may not reach the heights he could, call it a gut reaction but we worry he will fade a bit into a good but not great outfielder, but that is his floor with his health and track record the sky is the limit.
5. Cory Blackmon 1B/DH 74/89 20yr AA .266/.367/.493 16 HR 60 RBI .981 Pct
Plus power, will have plus eye should be able to mash MLB pitching in a few years. Contact isn’t great but the power will carry him to a everyday spot in a lineup. BUT…he strikes out at an unhealthy rate, more than once per three at bats and his defense is non existant. So while he could become a feared hitter on the MLB level the strikeouts will dull his value as will the lack of any defensive skill.
6. Raul Ascunce SP 67/84 21yr AA 5-12 5.03 ERA 1:1 K/BB .283 OBA
Raul has the potential to have plus control and eye and to remain off the DL at much as possible. However much like Buchanan we do not like the pitching repitore. He has the celing of a mid rotation starter, but the floor of a AAAA pitcher.
7. Jaime Alcocer SS 72/81 21yr AA .290/.342/.459 10 RH 56 RBI .969 Pct
Jaimer has a lot of potential question is will he live up to it. Defense is good enough for him to stick at the MLB level at SS, he has plus plus speed and projects for a plus eye, if his contact can catch up and somehow make it into a plus vital he will be a very good player, might even make a few all star games, worse comes to worse he will be a good everyday grinder at short stop, and should steal a ton of bases.
8. Boris Joyner OF 63/84 20yr A (Just drafted) .313/.377/.354 0 HR 9 RBI 1.000 Pct
Boris has some talent, his defense could win him a gold glove one day, and he has unique speed and power both of which project to be plus vitals, his eye should reach plus status as well. The negative here is that his contact might not develop into anything close to good enough, so while his upside is a everyday gold glove defender his downside is late inning defenseive replacement.
9. Geoff Pierce SP 60/85 21yr A (Just drafted) 0-1 5.32 ERA 1:1 K/BB .309 OBA
Geoff is young and has plenty of room to grow, he appears to be a control first second and last picher, it could end up plus plus but the movment and power might not develop well enough for him to be a top of the rotation starter, however there should be enough power there to make him a solid back end of the roation piece or possibly a 5th starter.
10. Matthew Morris SP 52/82 20yr A (Just drafted) 0-1 3.25 ERA 5:3 K/BB .252 OBA
Matt is a long way off but has some intrigue, his control and power could become plus vitals as well as having good to plus fastball slider and change. If this can all come to pass then he will be a good mid rotation starter, if not midling AAAA player will he be.
