BOS - CLE
#1
:BOS: get
CF Michael Brantley (90) - age 28 - $9M through 2015
SP Yohan Pino (86) - age 31 - $4.8M through 2015

:CLE: get
SP Justin Verlander (92) - age 32 - $18M through 2019
*SP Manuel Rivera (77) - age 25 - $500k through 2015

*Trade Rivera first to get around Verlander's NTC.

BOS accepts. Didn't expect to trade Verlander away, but his lack of production in Boston makes me believe someone else would be a better fit. And Brantley will definitely be my new leadoff hitter. This trade also helps me financially for now.

Brantley was expendable, and Pino wasn't going to be resigned. Easy decision.

my expenses are in check, and I have no resignings of importance to do. I have most money invested in my Bullpen, but whats wrong with that?

You're 22M over budget, this adds 4M for 5 years as opposed to getting back even with 13M in expiring deals. You only have 2M in the bank I think that's an overstatement. It's hard to approve a deal that will result in prospect auctions. I thought CLE was rebuilding?
