:CIN: receives:

SP Harold Olenhouse 62/86
SP Gordon Savin 72/82
SP Fausto Carmona 80

:DET: receives:

SP Yovani Gallardo 92

accept. I liked gallardo...big fan, but he's just too much of a financial liability and I have other young SP's I'd like to test out right now. I get a few specs, and a veteran, but most importantly I save a ton of money and Gallardo goes to a bigger market.

:DET: accepts. This team lacks some serious pitching. And while Gallardo is struggling a bit and is owed 19M per season, we can easily afford it(especially with over 36M coming off the books at seasons end) and hopefully he just needs a change of scenary.

Veto, mostly concerned about CIN's trend of acquiring a player then shipping him out for less only a few months later.

Quote:CF Donavan Tate 77/90
1B Eric Hosmer 82/86

You just sent that for him in the offseason, and 2.5 months into his CIN tenure you're jumping off the bandwagon. I know there's financial and performance concerns but constantly cycling through players wrecks minor league systems. Additionally with the Ubaldo veto I don't see how we could approve this as it stands.

Approve. Gallardo is overrated, 68 control, hasn't been as effective as he should be since 2012.

Completely agree. There are ALOT of players with misleading Overall's. Gallardo is decent, but his vitals dont necessarily warrant a 92 overall, nor does his salary.. either way i suppose

Upon further review I'll change to approve. I don't like it but he has Bishop developed and he's not taking any money back. I suppose at 19M and with his last 70IP plus his control there has to be some give somewhere.

so is it done or do we need one more approval?

Ugh....I don't think Gallardo is 92 worthy...but still this is tough. I think I have to side with DJ's original thought - I love chain dealing to the betterment of my team, but Cincinatti is doing the worst - sending out talent for a rental and then taking pennies on the dollar when he resells.

I'll approve with the caveat that the next time a deal like this is done by Cincy - I'll be a very, very hard veto.

It's now up to hokey unless terry changes his vote.
