Accept. I felt like I needed another pitcher to solidify my rotation, and this is my guy. Cook has not produced, and need to unload his salary to pay for Permenter. Nordstrom and Burns could have been a part of my team next year, but I want to win... now.

Padres probable werent going to be able to resign Permenter.
Nordstrom adds cheap depth to my rotation this year and beyond.
Burns should make my major league team next year.
Cash help offset the cost of Cook. Cook can hopefully be a useful piece to my rotation.
