Off-Season Re-Signing Guidelines
#1
1. Please make sure you are using the correct software and patch. You should be using Baseball Mogul 2014 v16.16. If you do not use the correct version, you run the risk of being stuck with incorrect contracts.

2. Players with less than 6.000 service must go through arbitration in the off-season, unless they come up negotiating a multi-year contract.  Players with more must either be released to free agency, resigned, or offered fallback.

Cap Arbitration prices:

1st Year Eligible: $15.0M Cap
2nd Year Eligible: $17.5M Cap
3rd Year Eligible: $20.0M Cap
4th Year Eligible: $25.0M Cap

If a player can be capped, note what cap limit the players gets in your re-signings.

Compensation Guidelines
1. Teams may make a fallback offer to any player with 6.000+ years of service time (can be found in Vitals tab) as long as the player has been on the current team the entire season. Teams must choose between which compensation you want to attempt for, Type A or Type B.

2. Fallback salaries will be $16.0Mx2 Years (Type A fallback) or $8.0Mx2 Years (Type B fallback).

3. In your re-signings file, simply note you wish to offer fallback and which type you are trying for.
i.e. SP Todd Linclon - Offer Type A Fallback

4a. Teams will lose a 5th round pick for signing a Type A player and will lose a 6th round pick for signing a Type B player.

4b. Regardless of compensation type, teams will lose your 5th and 6th round picks for signing two compensation players and will lose your 4th, 5th, and 6th round picks for signing three compensation players.

5. Teams can sign a maximum of three compensation players per off-season.

6. Type A compensation round happens between rounds 1 and 2, Type B compensation rounds happens between 2 and 3.

7. Compensation players who return on Fallback cannot be traded until July 1, just like any other FA signing.

- An archive (thread) will be posted in the draft forum to track the compensation selections
- Highest total value of contract determines each comp round order (highest overall then youngest player determines tiebreaker)
