Andy and stang are both right. I remember trying to trade for a full ntc player, while contacting the agent and I was told it just meant no specific teams he would or wouldn't go to and it was simply ingame rules. if you're not explicit you're leaving the interpretation up to the reader. this is why I'm very clear in my contracts. I'd also like to point out a number of trembath's incentives are NL based, so he'd lose those going to any AL team right?

Nokes, good point on the incentives but I'm even willing to convert thee incentives to the al and let the contract stay relatively the same

As I told stang yesterday, no trade clauses have to go through agents. Otherwise what is the point of having agents. I do not even like agents.

If this is just going to cause a bunch of pain, I can just auto veto it as an admin rather than a trade mod. Then impose the don't be an ass rule to everyone. But that would just cause more problems so, here is the awesome statement from me.

If you sign a deal and give a NTC to an agent player you will be stuck with that player. I don't know if DJ did not post it because it is obvious, but if you deal with an agent, that means you DEAL with an agent.

Hokey, then what is the point of a buyout? Nobody in their right mind gives a ntc to a non agent player. When the agent gives a limited ntc, the agent SPECIFIES the restrictions and list them out. If the agent wants full control of a "full ntc" then he needs to specify that, otherwise you should be able to use the buyout rule on them.

I would give a NTC to a non agent player to lower the amount of cash I would have to spend. That is one reason why people resign for less in the league I would assume as well.

As much as I hate agents, its not always the agents fault, maybe people should specify what NTC they want to give?

I will play devils advocate if need be.

To me this is pretty clear, Myz asked for a full no trade clause. To me that means he has no intention of trading the player and will not look to trade the player. Here we sit a little over a season after that contract was inked and he is involved in a trade. If you are going to go to an agent and ask for a "full" no trade clause. You should honor your word and not just move him after a single failed season.

All in all, I think this is something that should be negotiated through the agent and myz on what needs to be done. Hopefully both parties can come to an understanding with this.

The problem is though that agents literally ask for a ntc
very negotiation and gms agree to it in fear of losing the player Anyways, I've said all I can on this topic. All these nitpick bullshit rules are starting to make this league list is fun..

What are agents for? How about getting players contracts they deserve since Mogul is notoriously bad at gauging top end player value.

Making any NTC contract have to go through an agent and not allow a buyout or waive via in-game friends is not right to anyone who previously offered a NTC under "normal NTC" circumstances. This is a one time issue where neither the GM or Agent was clear in the posting of the contract. All that needs to be done is pin a topic in the Agent Deals forum outlining what the different types of NTCs are. At this point we can just say that Trembath has a full NTC.

Just contact the agent and try to resolve this. As I pointed out in another thread Agents are generally willing to work with GMs particularly if it can create a better situation for their client. Please review this post for more information about how to handle NTCs:

In order to simply move on I'm just approving this trade. THIS IS NO WAY CONSTITUTES PRECEDENT. Please review the link above for how we'll handle this going forward. If there is any confusion over this issue please PM me in Xat or through the board.
