Talent Reductions Again! from somebody else's mouth
#21
DJ, no way is that my point and everyone knows it. Using the last sentence is just cherry picking words to twist them into what you want them to be would makes a mockery of the thought out response I had.

The fact is we NEED to lower both the draft and farm system settings. It's not even a matter of opinion at this point. Without lowering the talent distributions is where you'll have problems. Mogul is like Jenga that replaces itself. It all has to go hand-in-hand.

I realy don't care how it gets done but something needs to get fixed and with how shitty this file is it would ncie to actually see something happen and see if it works. Why is it that guys can have the vitals of bonds and Conseco in their primes but yet they are not standouts? That makes zero sense. Our file has become a bunch of guys hitting around the same thing and no one being a Stud, as far as hitters go at least. Pitching seems to be fairly ok, I'd argue you have to have too many "aces" in your roto to be good and too many "closers" in your pen but that could be a product of the hitting i don't know.

Mogul has never produced players whose careers resemble MLB. It's been a complaint of the game for a long time that HoF careers are wonky in mogul. We've discussed that here in this league many times - fighting the game itself is a losing battle.

We have clear MVP candidates every year and guys putting up great numbers all the time. Talent is 100% relative. If you look merely at 90 = good (Even in vitals this is a mistake) then I would recommend a more sophisticated eye.

The question is, do others feel this current balance of talent/vitals/overalls/production constitute a problem? I'll just post a simple poll.

Think of it this way Mike with the vitals, there are plenty of players that have all the tools and talent but do nothing with it. If you go back and look at the file, there are plenty of players that have put up MVP numbers for long periods of time that had the vitals. I really don't think our file is as bad as some make it seam. The file mimics real life baseball pretty well if you ask me. So if the argument being used is based off of stats, I just don't see it.
