ATL 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th Round Draft Picks

:ATL: Incoming

1B/3B Mike Chitty (84) 1yr/5.5M - Arb '24
SP Justin Tincher (80/84) 39K - Arb' 26
RP Brian Zingariello (77) 39K - Arb' 24

I think this is obvious from my end, I have 3 options at 3B currently, 4 if you count Nufio and Tincher is 7th on my SP depth chart. Combine that with my love for the draft it's easy to pull the trigger on this deal.

Guess I'll be the jerk then. Sigh.

How does this make any sense to give up this kind of value for these bench players and sixth starters? This is HORRIBLE value - please explain how Tincher even makes your rotation and why Chitty is worth a pick in the middle of the second round. Especially given you don't seem to have a grasp on the value placed on draft picks in this league.

Chitty is a lot better than anyone gives him credit for. He's 1 of 19 players on the file with 90+ power and eye. The 74 contact is misleading. Strikeouts play a big part in the contact rating and in a full season of PAs (about 600-650) he'd strikeout about 125-135 times. Projected 100 Ks is average, so anyone who falls below that will have a better contact rating than they'll actually hit for average and anyone about above projected 100 Ks will have a lower contact rating than they'll actually hit for average.

Here's a simple question:

Do you, piazza, know what kind of monetary value this bunch of picks would have? If you sold these picks for cash, do you know what you'd get for them?

do i really want cash? or something to help me hmmm hard choice

Please answer the question or demonstrate in some other way that you actually understand this league's value of draft picks. That's the question. This deal indicates a total misunderstanding of it.

Simmers - I'd request the deal hold until the gm actually answers the question.
