wtf, why??? That is bullshit

Because apparently "solanda" wants you to bid against yourself when there is no market for him at that price..
#13
omg you babies it's to prevent people from resigning THEIR OWN compensated players at discounts compared to what the player (or agent) was asking the whole time. The ONLY reason there's no market for solanda is b/c he's pick protected. Quit acting like we're trying to create some imaginary market or screw people over senselessly. If GMs hadn't acted the fool or pulled quick ones on FCM before there wouldn't be the need for tedious rules. Maybe, just maybe, if you guys had policed each other I wouldn't have to make 1,000,000 rules...

Furthermore this is real life see Heath Bell this year and JP Howell last year. It's how the market works.

Well not to be a dick, but its not my job to police idiots.. you can't help stupid..... why not just make it so the releasing team can't sign him?? Simple enough to me..
#15
It doesn't make you a dick. Making sure GMs play fair is an optional responsibility for everyone but me and the admins. If people can't play ball w/out trying to constantly exploit rules or each other, and keeping league wide health in mind, what else am I supposed to do as commish? Find compromises, and the compensation system w/ the weighted discount for more years is as close to a happy medium as I can think of.

it is the difference of 220k per year. Not like the difference is in the millions. This is a non-issue being made into an issue for no reason.

I'm not gonna pay an extra 220k or whatever when 6.5 million per for 3 years is a lot better than 1 year $8.4 million. I don't mind giving up the pick, but I be damned if I am gonna bid against myself even more right here. This likely saves me anyway, he prolly ends up a 82 or 81 at end of next year anyway, so let Twins deal with that.
