I appreciate JPS taking notice. It's the reason why trade mods are here. This trade is fine, though. The point of the S&T rule is to prevent people from signing/ re-signing players for the sole purpose of flipping them for a profit and taking what would have been a valuable FA off the market.
Jones is not that kind of player and most of the season has played out. In fact about 30% of Jones' contract has played out, so it's really not much different than trading a guy after 1 year of a 4 year contract. The percentage of the contract being honored is the same.
