I know this flies in the face of the sign-and-trade rules, but I absolutely don't want/need a $6M/6 year setup man when this team has as many needs as it does. Since I didn't sign that contract (and never would have), I would like it if I was allowed an exemption for this deal.
The catcher flip gives me a real catcher and what is essentially a salary "dump" in Seibert.
Also, I haven't received any other offers for Kallen, so trading with an admin here shouldn't be an issue, but if it is, let's talk it out.

Paying a non-closer material reliever $36M over 6 years is risky, but given the market for RPs and the return, it's worth the risk. Like Hick said, we know Kallen was just signed, but he's an inherited contract.
