We could just keep it simple and if you are going to offer more years on a deal that the dollar value per year has to be within 20%.

For example

Team A offer Player A 1 year @ 1M

So if Team B wanted to come in and offer a 2 year deal they would have to come in with at least a 2 year @ 800K offer.
