You cannot negotiatie offseason contracts by going to the negotiate button in game either. You must sim ahead and post based on their offers post your reply. If they post an arby offer POST YOUR COUNTER OFFER. If he doesn't accept re-sim and see what he'll offer.
The term 'Accept Arby' only applies to potential free agents. In baseball and in FCM, there are two different types of arbitration based on whether or not the team still has control over the player (less than 6 years service time). If you still have team control the team and the player submit their arbitration figure and an independent judge (an arbiter) will decide which contract is most reasonable for the player. Mogul represents this by showing you ONLY THE PLAYER'S FIGURE. If you just accept you give him free money.
