Obviously they could not afford to keep Adrian so this deal was inevitable. They had to trade him away to a big market team that had the big bucks to sign him. The Pads did get some nice guys in return too.
Even though I'm a Yankees fan I will be very interested to seeing if Gonzalez does live up to his expectation to be a hitter perfect for fenway park. As a fan of baseball it will be interesting to see someone steroid free kill the ball often.
We see that all the time with Pujols, Votto, Hamilton, Dunn, Longoria, Teixeira, Wright, and Hanley Ramirez.
But Gonzalez should be perfect for fenway, he should smack the ball more then those guys next year, 2011 AL MVP would not suprise me at all.
