Avellar was signed as a FA, but not by Hans. I think it's safe to say this falls outside the "sign and trade" guidelines.

If not, that's ok, we'll drop the deal.

From my end, the injury to DeForest forces my hand to add some more SP to help with the depth we have. I give up the last pick and a guy who just keeps spinning his wheels for a solid starter who should pitch well for me.
