For many years we never had any rules regarding playoff eligibility for waivers. It's only been in the past few seasons that we've installed these rules. The reason we opted to remove them is because very few waiver trades happen in September, it's one more thing for the admins to look over, and players still have to pass through waivers. It seems as if we're only making it that low 80s pickups would not be eligible for the playoffs and it's probably not worth the hassle.
However, it seems a few want the rule to remain, so it'll go up as a poll to see which set of waiver rules we use.
A. Unless a player is rated 90, they are eligible for post-season play if acquired in September.
B. Players acquired after September 1 are not eligible for post-season play.
