Here's my thoughts on the pod talk on secondary positions:
I don't agree with current players not being eligible for second positions and I don't agree with it being solely for the draft classes going forward. I think it should be open to anyone. Like with my pitching idea, I think it should be a Winterball type thing where it costs money. I know Andy said something to me about not wanting to mess with adding 1B to a player's profile, but I think that should strongly be on the table as well. 1B isn't as noticeably terrible as when you put a solely CF in LF and he has an .821 fielding percentage, but a .958% is still terrible for 1B. Much less, it's realistic for players to also play or transition to 1B. And hey, I found something that might make this whole game simple...
Adding Second Positions
After Sim #12 teams a thread will go up for adding secondary positions. The deadline will be the playoff sim and the extra positions will be added prior to the re-signings being entered.
1. Teams may add secondary positions added to 2 players.
2. Teams may add 2 extra positions per player. Positions must make sense or they will be denied. Left-handed throwing players will not be allowed to play the infield other than 1B. Adding reason will help your cases.
Make a 3B have 1B and RF (Lonnie Chisenhall)
Make a 2B have 3B and 1B (Kelly Johnson)
3. Cost is $2.5M per player.
4. How the predicteds will be done is TBD.
5. Players can have even more positions added in future seasons.
Making Pitchers True Relievers
After Sim #12 teams a thread will go up. The deadline will be the playoff sim and the Endurance adjustment will be made prior to the re-signings being entered.
1. Teams may transition 2 pitchers to true relievers.
2. The pitcher must have shown to have made at attempt to convert to a reliever.
Added to MLB Bullpen or changed to reliever usage in the Minors[i]
3. Cost is $2.5M per player.
4. Pitchers will have their Predicted Games Pitched doubled.
[i]This will relatively have their Endurance cut in half.
5. Pitchers can be converted to a reliever additional times in the future.
