sends:
Evan Spillman 29 OF 86 86 $500K Arb'32
:MIL: sends:
1st Round Pick(15th Overall)
4th Round Pick (105th Overall)
Steve Williams 31 OF 83 83 $6.7M 2
James Runyon 31 3B 81 81 $5.9M 2
This is the new deal from the vetoed one. I'm getting high picks, pretty good reason to make this deal.

Maybe it's just me, but removing the 4th round pick is like a car salesman shaving $100 off of a car and acting like you're getting such a better deal. I'm interested in seeing what the other trade mods think.

Brewers accept. Im not sure what the problem is here, nobody is willing to take on these two bad contracts of mine for less, plus I get Spillman to go with it. These two contract guys are pretty worthless for me, regardless of their overall ratings. Twins didnt make it clear here, but the two players I am trading are PURE salary dumps. I have to give up something for someone to take on the salary dump. And I had 3 other GMs offer to take the dumps but this was the best offer I got.
And how about we go back in history of this league to see all of the great players that were 4th Round Picks. There are PLENTY!! Its not like its a worthless draft pick.

I understand you're point matty, but this deal isn't a deal that's going to destroy the progression of both teams. The first deal wasn't even that bad, and even though it was vetoed me and Erick decided to take what you guys gave us and re-work it, Spillman has the capabilities of an All-Star lead off man, and taking 25M for the next two years is definitely worth a 2nd round pick, its worth a 2nd and a 4th. Spillman worth a 1st. That's the even deal right there brotha. Remember that I'm trading for players in which I have no idea how they will turn out, the only one getting a for sure talent in this deal is Erick, exactly why it is even. I've seen even worse deals go thru as recently as last year without any hesitation or problem. I'm not complaining, just trying to prove why our deal is legit.

I mean its still not my favorite but i was definitely partial to removing one of the picks. I still don't like it, but it's a bit better.
cautiously approve

Do you think I'm stupid? Spillmann sucks. His Eye is largely to do with that he's a low K guy, which in turn inflates his contact rating. If he were actually All-Star caliber he would have better numbers in Minnesota, which is now one of the better BA parks. And $25M? If you'd release them asap it'd cost $18.5M.
To me, I see the same deal as before. More time passed so you aren't paying the players quite as much, so removing the 4th rounder is close to on a par with taking on less salary.

To me, if the second was removed and the fourth reinstated - it would make more sense. Spillman has just never produced, despite those nice vitals.
