Agent Proposal Example
#1
Hey guys here's my initial proposal to the agent for Peter Conwell. You don't have to be this elaborate but this is a great example of some of the dynamics you should be including in your Agent Bids. It's not perfect but it's a great example:

Hello Agent Ravencroft,

We'd like to begin exploration of a long term deal for Mr. Conwell. Everyone enjoyed a career year from Peter but none more than the Player's Union with his record setting $21.6M arbitration figure. Congrats to Peter and we're happy to pay him that amount for 2026.

Off the bat we're willing to agree to a few more record setting principals in this contract but before we delve into that we'd like to make it clear that it's going to be next to impossible for Houston to continue down the current financial path we find ourselves on.

Top SS's - Annual Salary (Total):
1) Larry MacPhater - 15,000,000 (105M)*
2) Bryan Hardigg - 15,750,000 (79M)
3) Sean Fisk - 13,000,000 (52M)

Some Other Comparibles:

1) Peter Potter - 28M over 3 Arbitration Rulings (11.7M for final year)
2) Jay Sullivan - 20,000,000 (160M) - Had to pay top dollar to keep him in BAL
3) Reid DePino - 14,000,000 (70M)
4) Matt McArthur - 16,000,000 (64M)

So in reality you have quite the range when we're trying to determine value:

11,7000,000 - 20,000,000 with guarantees as low as 11,700,000 up to 160,000,000. The real question is where does Conwell fit in?

We want to open with the following extension offer paying him slightly above league average. We hope this is workable with his greed and the history of success in Houston:

2027: 21,600,000
2029: 15,000,000
2029: 16,000,000
2030: 17,000,000
2031: 18,000,000
2032: 15,000,000
2033: TO (17,000,000)
2034: TO (17,000,000)
2035: TO (17,000,000)

All three team options become guaranteed if he averages 500+ PAs over the previous 3 seasons. For example he has 600 PAs in 2032, 350 in 2031 and 550 in 2031 the 2033 option would vest. So and and so forth for the final two. If all three vest he'll get a one-time bonus of $7,000,000 cash due during the 2034-2035 offseason. This guarantee does not happen if the options are just picked up by the team.

Total: 6yrs/102.6M (17.1M Average) - Up to 8yrs/160.6M if the options vest.

We can adjust his salary year in and year out or just average it out, either way it's designed to help leave room for small additions year-in and year-out to keep the team around Conwell strong.

This would set records in the length, annual value and total value departments for SSs and still be worked into our budget going forward. It would also give Conwell the ability to earn more than Sullivan over the same amount of years while givning HOU the flexibility to remain competative. Let us know where he's at.
