Agent has waived Seidels NTC with an extension.
Seidel will now be making 13.5 million this year and the next 2 years.
1 mil if he is in the top 5 for era/wins/innings
and the last stipulation is if an injury causes him to lose his spot in a contenders rotation than he will be released without the Marlins owing anything to him.
Why I do this? I get a stud CF and an ace that will hopefully bring me a WS

Well here are a variety of questions:
Why not take a comp pick for Siedel? Fowler is essentially useless and Siedel was a guaranteed first round pick - this makes no sense.
No player is a 15 year lock to be with a team, that reasoning seems strange.
Did you negotiate at all with any other teams? I know of myself and at least one other team that offered on Romero - were you sure you maximized your value? If so, why do you think this is the best you could do?
And seriously - what the hell agent would agree to something this ridiculous when baseball contracts are guaranteed?

to Andy, the fallback on Seidel I'm assuming would insane and at 35 years old im not sure any team on that market would want to give a first rounder and a huge contract to beat the fallback offer.

So a cy young caliber pitcher, in real life, is going to sign up for a paycut AND a clause that all but certainly allows his contract to be voided for free? Does someone have nude photos of Siedel and a transvestite that I'm not aware of? It is ridiculous!
Even if siedel isn't comp value - he's sure as shit better than Fowler. Lots of teams would have given quality for a one year ace rental. Fowler is an f'n salary dump!!! Am I the only sane person left?
